Family Activities

Fort Hensler

Turn the kids loose on Fort Hensler! When you bring the kids to Fall Fest this year, they will know that we built this fort for them. Fort Hensler has places for kids to explore, climb and create their own adventures. In the back of the fort are piles of soft straw perfect for jumping on and climbing. Donna Stanley, creator of many of the memorable characters at Hensler’s, has populated Fort Hensler with a few new friends.

Hensler Express

All aboard the Hensler Nursery Express! Each year the children that visit Hensler’s enjoy climbing aboard our custom-built wooden train. Located behind the Christmas Barn, be sure to capture a few photos as your kids turn into railroad engineers and railway passengers.

Walking Loop Trail

Fall is the perfect time to go hiking. The trees are very colorful and there are no insects to spoil your hike, so when you visit Hensler Nursery, plan on taking a few minutes to enjoy our new hiking trail. We offer a quiet, peaceful walking trail that is approximately .4 mile long and takes about 15 minutes to walk. If you walk quietly, you may see birds, squirrels, deer and even wild turkeys!
